I have recently been to a fantastic barbecue. It is always helped if the weather is good and it was a lovely warm evening with just a gentle cooling breeze. I took a salad with me and some cheesecake to contribute towards the pudding but I was rather outclassed by the Lynx grill that they had. It was a new addition to their garden this year and so everyone was talking about it and wanting to try the food which was being made on there.

I was the same as I was very curious to find out what the food would be like as I had heard so many good things about the Lynx BBQ grills but had never been lucky enough before to try anything cooked on there. They had produced a great selection of food, both using recipes that they traditionally used for barbecues and also some which they found on the Internet which were specifically for use with a Lynx outdoor grill. Everything tasted fantastic and it was all really well cooked. I often worry at barbecues about how well the food is cooked because of the risk of food poisoning but it was all piping hot right through with a fantastic flavour.

Our hosts are great cooks anyway but most people would struggle when using a new type of cooker but they found it all really easy and even let us have a go on it, which was fantastic fun. It was quite funny in the end as the grown ups were so taken with playing with the new 'toy' and talking about it that they were crowded around it. While backs were turned the children that were there all started eating the puddings and we didn't even notice how quiet they were being. By the time one of us noticed them, my cheesecake was nearly all gone and there was a group of half a dozen children squirting cream onto each others spoons and eating it and then dipping into the trifle and chocolate cakes. There was a horrendous mess and lots of sticky faces and fingers.

It ended up with everyone laughing rather than telling off the children as they all looked so cute and weren't being wickedly naughty but just enjoying themselves like we were. I think that the Lynx grill should have come with a warning that it can cause distraction and children may get up to mischief while you are using it!
